MONASTERIO DE LAS VIÑAS RESERVA 2022 DO Cariñena (Grandes Vinos y Viñedos) Savory and slightly jammy fruit with an earthy touch, complemented by hints of walnut and tobacco leaves. Gritty on the palate, it features grainy tannins that enhance the medium body. The finish is tight yet earthy, reflecting an old-school character. Drink now. MASSAYA TERRASSES DE BAALBECK SINGLE VINEYARD 2022 Bekaa Valley (Ghosn, Brunier & Hebrard)

Dense and dark, with aromas of tar, leather, elder berries and sloe fruit. Full-bodied with a compact tannic core. Very long, emphatically dry finish that’s smoky and tarry. A cuvee of 40% grenache plus 30% each of syrah and mourvedre. Drink or hold [into early 2030s+]. COUTADA VELHA SIGNATURE RED 2022 Vinho Regional Alentejano (Monte da Ravasqueira) Excellent value wine with depth & flavour. Opaque ruby in colour with good acidity, a medium intense nose, dry tannin & a long length on the finish. This wine features: Dark cherry, plum, blackberry, cassis, anise, leather, tobacco leaves, fig & violets on the nose. Aged in oak barrels for 8 months. Here’s a great value from Ribera del Duero. Crafted from 100% Tempranillo, it was aged four months in French oak barrels and showcases intense strawberry and cherry with a hint of violet. Ripe, round, fruit-forward and juicy, it will drink well through 2035.
