DOMAINE BENEDETTI CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2020 AOC

BURGUNDY NUITON-BEAUNOY BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR 2023 AOC, sustainable

More expressive and complex than many 2020 Châteauneufs at this early stage, with Provençal herbs and bay leaf aromas to the blackberry fruit – very promising. Light- to medium-bodied, fluid and juicy, with fresh acidity, this is well-defined and should build some complexity in time. Finishes on a savoury note. From lieux-dits La Crau (sand and galets roulés), Le Pradel (red clay) and Les Saintes Vierges (sand). Fermented in concrete with natural yeasts, aged in oak barrels of various sizes (including 20% new oak barriques) and concrete vats. Score: 93 (Matt Walls, decanter.com, Sept. 30, 2021) Full-bodied & Smooth 43585 (XD) 750 ml $63.95 2 Featured in Big Scores 4 Organic product FAMILLE PERRIN PEYRE BLANCHE CAIRANNE 2022 AOC This is a 60/40 blend of Grenache and Syrah sourced from terraced sites planted in clay, gravel, and soft sandstone. It’s ripe, plush and peppery, with an alluring, characterful garrigue note. It has the potential to drink through 2030 and perhaps even beyond and will be a fine option for grilled meat, roast chicken, or fried seitan “chicken” tenders. Full-bodied & Smooth 650960 (XD) 750 ml $21.95 2

Sourced from 20-year-old vines planted in clay and limestone, this wine offers up sharply defined red cherry, redcurrant, blackberry, blackcurrant, and savoury herbs, with an evocative but delicate smoke note. Quite fine, silky and structured, it’s perfect for grilled duck breast. Drink through 2028. Medium-bodied & Fruity 556456 (XD) 750 ml $24.95 2 Featured as our Wine of the Month
