This wine comes from the largest organic vineyard in Greece, first planted with Assyrtiko in the early 1960s. It’s bold, intense and complex, with clearly defined citrus, apple, melon and mineral. The zesty acidity makes it an ideal sipper or pairing option for seafood. It will drink well through 2028 and has the potential to see 2030+. This wine comes from vines grown in Miocene-era clay and limestone soils and is fermented in stainless steel. It offers pleasing floral tones, with mouth- watering acidity, tangy apple and grapefruit, nuts, and a lingering mineral note. This is a wine for grilled seafood appetizers. COSTA LAZARIDI AMETHYSTOS RED 2023 PGI Drama (Michel Rolland, consultant) Created by legendary “flying winemaker” Michel Rolland, this blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Agiorgitiko is rich and decadent. There’s engaging wood smoke, generous chocolate cake and blackcurrant, and a long, smoky finish. This will drink into the mid-2030s and will be great with lamb or mushroom-based dishes. Look for lovely, layered, and well-defined flavours in this very attractive pinot grigio. They’re led by white stone-fruit with floral notes, show good concentration, and they’re paired with clean, bright acidity. The fruit-acid balance is excellent, and this is especially suitable for the table, although you can of course sip it on its own. Drink now to 2027 to enjoy its youthful freshness.
