Matured in a mix of French and Hungarian oak for 15-18 months, this complex Bordeaux-inspired blend exudes cassis, blueberry compote, dried mint and sweet vanilla. Savour it with leg of lamb and pomegranate-and-couscous salad. A nicely chewy cabernet sauvignon that is not shy about its plentiful, dusty tannins. Roasted red chiles, spiced cherries and currants. A touch of dark chocolate. Juicy and peppery, with tight tannins and a long, vertical finish. Better in one or two years. VOYAGER VIVID RED 2024 Margaret River, Western Australia A blend of shiraz, grenache, tempranillo and merlot, largely whole-bunch fermentation and left on skins for two weeks; as it’s PF (preservative free) there’s no added SO 2 . And vivid red indeed, the colour a gorgeous dark purple shot with red. It’s vibrant and juicy – full of dark fruits and spices – yet savoury, with some charcuterie reduction done nicely, ironstone, too. The palate is lighter framed but not wimpy, tangy with lithe tannins and bright acidity. Chill it down in summer or enjoy as is any other time. Love it. A fresh and flavoursome Sauvignon Blanc, very pale lemon in colour, with quite a pronounced nose. There are ripe passionfruit and tropical notes here, a high class Savvy from a top region. There are also, most subtle, notes of riverstones and mango. With very good length, this is a delicious style for those who love the variety to drink now and for the next couple of years.
