From a new project led by Dan Rabinovitch and winemaker Marco Piccoli, this blend of Cabernet Franc and Baco Noir offers engaging black fruit, savoury herbs, smoke and vanilla tones. Smooth, easy to enjoy and versatile with food, it will be a welcome addition to any table.

This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (47%), Merlot (30%) and Syrah (23%) all sourced from family vineyards in Osoyoos and Penticton. It delivers enticing fruit aromas, intense sweet-toned fruit (although it’s very dry), menthol spice, and a long finish. Hinterbrook Trinity 2018 is a dry, medium-plus bodied red wine blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot with a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon added to the mix. Grapes were sourced from a single estate vineyard in Niagara Lakeshore and the wine spent 36 months in oak barrels. Fresh and elegant with ripe dark fruits, plum and bright raspberry flavours with a kiss of spice and framed with polished tannins, it will drink well through 2030. Drink: 2024©2030. CATENA PARAJE ALTAMIRA MALBEC 2023 Paraje Altamira, Valle de Uco, Mendoza, sustainable A big, almost full-bodied style but opens with subtle, elegant notes of dried violet, thyme and dried orange peel that give way to a powerful, concentrated, structured core built around berry and plum flavors. There’s still Malbec’s hallmark velvety texture, but it is a contrast to the wave of chalky minerality. Finishes with glints of cassis and fig around structured tannins. Hands off for now. A 22 month long élevage in neutral French oak follows wild fermentation that ultimately delivers honest and wildly seductive notes of red cherry, ripe raspberries and fall leaves. Fine tannins and a masterstroke of tension coupled with bright acidity brings undeniable energy, and promises of a silk-infused love story in the glass.
