I am a fan of the merlots from Lalande-de-Pomerol as they always over-deliver for the price. This is a classic with ripe black fruit nestled amid fine oak cedary spice, fresh but subtle herbs. It is medium-full bodied, more dense than I expected with some warmth and firm tannin. Big but balanced and the length is excellent. Best 2025 to 2030. Tasted Sept 2023.
