As part of LCBO’s ongoing commitment to supporting diversity in the wine industry, we’re pleased to be releasing these two fine wines crafted by indigenous New Zealand producers. Tohu is the world’s first Māori-owned wine business. Their logo, derived from a koru pattern, symbolises growth, life and the natural world. Te Pā Wines founder and owner Haysley MacDonald traces his ancestry to early Māori settlers who landed in New Zealand 800 years ago. He holds the same commitments they did: respect for the land, keeping simple things in balance and being proudly independent.
