BLEASDALE THE POTTS FAMILY SPARKLING SHIRAZ Langhorne Creek, South Australia

LUC BELAIRE RARE LUXE DEMI SEC SPARKLING France, Charmat method

Langhorne Creek is an impressive and oft-over looked little region in South Australia, and the Bleasdale winery is chief among the success stories here. I’ll admit, sparkling Shiraz can be a hard sell, but when it’s done right – and here it’s done right – it has the capacity to surprise and delight. With ripe Shiraz berry character in the mouth, this NV The Potts Family Sparkling Shiraz is plump and fine, with a swirl of graphite tannins that ground the heady fruit. Coal dust and crushed rocks are in the mix, so too peppercorns and exotic spices. Very good. BALFOUR 1503 CLASSIC CUVÉE SPARKLING Kent, England, traditional method

GRAHAM BECK MÉTHODE CAP CLASSIQUE BRUT PINOT NOIR/ CHARDONNAY ROSÉ SPARKLING WO Western Cape, South Africa, traditional method

Classically structured and beautifully balanced, delicate fruit aromas dance with creamier, toastier ones. It hints at jasmine, white peach, apple with custard and lemon oil. There’s a silkiness to the mouthfeel, then a crunch of acidity and fine bubbles. Those delicate aromas flow seamlessly into flavors. A poised and ultra-food-friendly bottling. The back label suggests fish and chips. This reviewer agrees. Score: 94 (Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast , Dec. 1, 2022) Medium-bodied & Flavourful 47578 (XD) 750 ml $55.95 2

A classic traditional method rosé from a pioneering fizz producer in South Africa. This blend of pinot noir and chardonnay pours a luminous colour. Clean with plenty of autolytic richness and delicate froth. A nicely balanced dosage gives approachability without taking away from the wine’s zesty attitude. A heck of a deal. Tasted May 2024. Score: 91
