LOIRE DOMAINE FRANCK MILLET SANCERRE 2024 AOC
CHÂTEAU TOUR DE PEZ SAINT-ESTÈPHE CRU BOURGEOIS 2019 AOC From the Pez plateau west of the village of Saint-Estèphe, this wine is dense and structured. Against this, the black fruits and perfumed acidity give the wine plenty of promise. Drink from 2026 [into the late 2030s+]. Cellar Selection. Score: 93 (Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast , July 1, 2022) Full-bodied & Smooth 43980 (XD) 750 ml $55.95 2
From a third-generation family of winemakers, this is a balanced, refined Sauvignon Blanc sourced from limestone and clay soils. Fermented in stainless steel, it saw five weeks of lees stirring. It’s supple and poised, with notable intensity, well-fashioned fruit notes, a characterful herbal undertone, and Sancerre’s distinct mineral. Electric acidity makes it a great sipper. This will drink through 2028+. Aromatic & Flavourful 47908 (XD) 750 ml $38.95 2
FRANCE – RED WINE BORDEAUX
BURGUNDY BUXY MILLEBUIS RULLY PINOT NOIR 2022 AOC
CHÂTEAU DU MOULIN ROUGE HAUT-MÉDOC CRU BOURGEOIS SUPÉRIEUR 2019 AOC, sustainable
Rully offers some of the greatest value in Burgundy wine. This Pinot Noir comes from hillside sites in the villages of Rully and Chagny and exhibits excellent depth and elegance along with generous blackcurrant, blackberry, red cherry, and lifted florals. Food-friendly with a firm structure, this has the potential to cellar into the late 2030s. Medium-bodied & Fruity 45164 (XD) 750 ml $35.95 2
A fine, classically styled wine which is structured and shows more of a traditional, meaty, earthy character than some of the more exuberantly fruited Cru Bourgeois. Has a touch of the Graves about it, with the gravelly character in evidence. Concen trated, dark fruit, leafy cherry on the nose and palate. Needs a little more time to soften but there is plenty of potential for further development in bottle. Drink: 2026-2033. Score: 91 (Andy Howard, MW, Decanter , Sept. 13, 2024) Full-bodied & Smooth 44190 (XD) 750 ml $32.95 2
MAISON ROCHE DE BELLENE CUVÉE RÉSERVE BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR 2023 AOC There is an effortless levity to the palate, but not at the cost of flavour. Maison Roche de Bellene’s Bourgogne Rouge delivers a clean, vivid expression – bright but not sharp, lifted yet grounded. Red and black cherries mingle with ripe red plum, lending intrigue and charm to the palate. It’s vibrant, impeccably balanced, and finishes with a lingering minerality that speaks of place. A quietly classic Bourgogne with poise and precision. Tasted March 2025. Score: 90 (Sara d’Amato, winealign.com) Medium-bodied & Fruity 299859 (XD) 750 ml $30.95 2
CHÂTEAU PEY LA TOUR RÉSERVE DU CHÂTEAU 2020 AOC Bordeaux Supérieur (Vignobles Dourthe)
The 2020 Pey La Tour Réserve du Château is plump, juicy and very easy to like. Succulent dark cherry, chocolate, spice, licorice and dried herbs are all nicely amplified in this mid-weight, open knit Bordeaux Supérieur. Drinking window: 2023- 2028. Score: 91 (Antonio Galloni, vinous.com, Feb. 23, 2023) Medium-bodied & Fruity 349308 (XD) 750 ml $23.95 2
