SIDEWOOD STABLEMATE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2023 Adelaide Hills, South Australia
BIRD IN HAND SAUVIGNON BLANC 2024 Adelaide Hills, South Australia, vegan
This is a delicious cabernet sauvignon, aged 18 months in French oak, that delivers quality from attack to finish. Look for defined and layered flavours, with dark berries leading the way and attractive spicy notes following up. The fruit-acid balance is very good, and the tannins are drying and easily managed. Drink it now to the late 2020s. (Tasted March 2025.) Score: 92 (Rod Phillips) Full-bodied & Firm 26926 (XD) 750 mL $17.95 2
The family-owned Bird in Hand was founded in 1997 by Andrew and Susie Nugent. This Sauvignon Blanc comes from grapes sourced from cool, high-altitude sites throughout the Adelaide Hills region. It’s intense, focused and mouth-watering, with nicely concentrated citrus, stone fruit, and savoury herbs. Drink this with grilled squid. Aromatic & Flavourful 41875 (XD) 750 mL $17.95 2

MT. MONSTER SINGLE VINEYARD SHIRAZ 2022 Limestone Coast, South Australia
NEW ZEALAND – WHITE WINE
Garnet black color. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry and leather, garrigue, and cocoa nibs and pepper with a velvety, lively, dry medium-to-full body and a warming, interesting, medium-length finish that exhibits touches of red and black cherry, grilled herbs, and pepper and leather with crunchy, chewy, well-integrated tannins and light oak flavor. Just damn tasty Syrah! A little bit Aussie, a little bit Cali, and a little bit riper vintage Rhone while being all around delicious. Exceptional. Best Buy.
