Finally, there’s Xinomavro (ksee NOH-mah-vro), a red wine grape prevalent in the north of Greece, particularly in uplands and mountain foothills. Akin to Nebbiolo, it’s high in tannin and makes for stately, structured wines exhibiting cherry, herb and earthy notes. It’s often paired with braised meats or mushroom risotto.

This wine is crafted from 100% Xinomavro harvested by hand from a single vineyard in the hills of Naoussa in northern Greece. It spent 16-18 months maturing in oak barrels.
